Job Title: Digital Archivist
Job Status: Part-time and full-time available
Salary: $20-$25 per hour ($35,000-$45,000 annually)
SSHSA is seeking a Digital Archivist for a part-time, grant-funded temporary position. The successful candidate will assist the SSHSA Archivist in creating a digital management plan to guide the creation, description and storage of digitized items in SSHSA’s collections. The successful candidate will work on instituting standardized description and metadata for images and surrogates from two collections: the Edward O. Clark Collection and the Braun Brothers Collection, which are digitized and partially available through the society’s online database.

Job Title: Archival Assistant
Job Status: Part Time
Salary: $17.50-$22.50 per hour ($25,000-$35,000 annually)
SSHSA is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Archival Assistant to manage collections and research services. This is a part-time, grant-funded position for a two-year period. The successful candidate will assist the SSHSA Archivist with collections processing and description, as well as research services that include reference interviews and answering research questions using materials in the library and collections. The assistant may also help process orders for reproductions of images and visual media. Students and graduate students in library studies are encouraged to apply.

Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Job Status: Part Time, with the potential to become full-time
The Steamship Historical Society of America is seeking an Administrative Assistant to help manage a growing office at the Ship History Center in Warwick, Rhode Island. The successful candidate will be computer savvy with a familiarity with all operations of a modern office environment and data management technologies like Microsoft Office. Experience with DonorPerfect is preferred, but not required. The Administrative Assistant will also interact with volunteers, members and the general public in person and via telephone and email.
